Festival 2022 UPDATE
Tennessee Fields (formally Dixie Fields Festival)
Following a year of uncertainty, Essex’s biggest country music event has complied a line-up of top quality artists who will be appearing at the festival over the weekend of 9th-11th July. Some of the brightest US-based acts are again travelling to the UK to complete a roster that also includes the best of Britain’s home-grown country music talent.
After an unprecedented number of requests, Oregon native Jackson Michelson will return to the festival and will take the headline spot for 2021. Jackson will be joined on the journey over from the States by the fabulous Jessica Lynn and Clayton Smalley, with Clayton performing in the UK for the very first time. The UK acts who will complete the line-up include Kezia Gill, Jake Morrell, Morganway, Lucy Blu and Gareth Nugent on the main stage. They will be supported from the CountryLine Homegrown Stage with acoustic sets from Emma & Jolie, Roisin O’Hagan, Tim Prottey-Jones and The Folly Brothers.
The Friday Night Party will welcome a Honky Tonk band to the stage to play some of the biggest country party tunes to get everyone in the mood for an awesome weekend. This is no ordinary Honky Tonk and as an exceptional treat for all campers, this band will be made up of some of the hottest UK country artists and musicians including Gary Quinn, Jade Helliwell, Kezia Gill, Sarah Jory and Luke Thomas.
Other activities at the festival include a traditional Ferris wheel and fairground games, a shopping area, a songwriter’s workshop and a fully interactive songwriting masterclass, as well as the opportunity to learn about, and have a go on, the individual instruments which make up a band. Line-dancing will return to the Big Top once again, as with the country-karaoke.
With the pandemic remaining a dark cloud over the events industry, the festival management team have taken the decision that this will be a fully cashless festival and there will be a larger than usual arena space to ensure guests have plenty of room to socially distance if desired. All bars will operate a one-way system and plans are underway to create a separate bar which will require full social distancing for those customers who prefer to maintain this. All WC facilities will be cleaned regularly throughout the event and hand sanitiser will be readily available for use across the site. Further information about these measures will be available in due course.
The festival will kick off with Friday evening entertainment, followed by the full country music line-up on the Saturday, and a big American style brunch on the Sunday morning for campers. And it will all take place in the beautiful Essex countryside, less than an hour from London.
